| Name: | Éomer, King of Rohan | |||||||||
| Bio: | ( with credit to the Enclyopedia of Arda and edited for game!accuracy) The son of Éomund of Eastfold and Théodwyn, the sister of King Théoden. While still a young man of just twenty-six, Éomer the King's nephew was made Third Marshal of Riddermark, and took command of the Riders of Eastfold. The days of his youth were harsh ones for Rohan; its people were imperilled by Orcs out of the north, while a certain Gríma son of Gálmód, later found to be a spy of Saruman, gained influence over the King. On 25 February III 3019, Rohan suffered its greatest blow to date; at a skirmish that would become known as the First Battle of the Fords of Isen, Théoden's son and heir Théodred was heavily injured and afterwards disappeared, leaving Éomer - who was not at the battle - as the natural heir to Rohan's throne. Éomer went on to fight against Saruman's forces at the Battle of the Hornburg, and later rode with his King to aid of all the free peoples of Middle Earth. Freedom from Sauron's darkness came after a great deal of bloody warfare and loss. Not the least of these losses were Eomer's uncle, Theoden King, and it was with a heavy heart that he took the throne of Rohan. The kingdom was in chaos, it's fields and farms more important than ever, and Eomer has fought hard to unite his scattered people and restore Rohan to its past glory. Éomer is not a perfect man, for all he is King. He has his faults, and it's been hard to take the Rider out of the King, so to speak. The complexities involved in running a country are still new to him, as well as such things as Diplomacy and International Politics. He yet remains, however, a strong fighter, with a somewhat noble side, who is loyal and true to his country, his people, and those he personally calls Friend.
